Yucky, yucky insulation

A must-do is almost done. Donning respirator, long sleeves and taped gloves I jumped into the insulation task today. Kraft faced batts are the way to go because of the built in vapor barrier but they add a lot of time to the install. I believe I'll research using poly sheets as a vapor barrier next time.

This house is tight! all the windows are foamed so much I have to cut away the excess, exterior is Tyvek wrapped, ceiling is crammed to the sheathing with closed cell foam, and insulation is packed into each crevice. I think the owners will have to keep a window cracked just to let the house breathe. : )
